This is my 3D project that I have done for my sculpting class at The University Of The Arts.

This piece took me 3 days to finish and it was hell trying to finish this. Mainly when your body is the model. This piece is suppose to represent the feeling of the wood and the destruction the forest is going through and so on...... The color that I used is suppose to stand for blood or the spilling of life, and the wood is trying to take the form of it destruction, man.

It was just something that I thought will be new to do and interesting to design.
The materials are; Five foot piece of wood, plaster wrap, burgundy house paint, and Time/Patience.

Hope you enjoy it and I will like to hear comments about my statue 8-)

this very much reminds me of a painting i saw at the Brandywine river museum. the whole painting fools the eye, it's flat. pretty impressive. but then again so is this. although i wonder if you've thought about giving the viewer just an idea of a face coming out as well, like the hint of the most foreword forms of the face starting to come through. that may not work with your idea very well, but then again you did make the rest of the forms very human. he's even wearing pants or something. just an idea.

Thanks for the awesome critique. I was going to design a face coming out, but it was going to be very hard to cast my face just by myself. Yeah the whole sculptor is basically my body cast. It was a pain to design, but I got it to work. And again thanks for the awesome critique. 8-)
